Content Marketing Specialist

We’re looking for the right marketer to join us, in this role that reports to the Director of Marketing. If you have exposure to multiple types of writing and are ready to stretch yourself, this could be the perfect opportunity.

We’re a growing 170-person startup on a mission to create community around food. Our marketing team loves using our creative and analytical skills to help offices and groups bond around delicious meals. We prioritize learning and development, data-driven thinking, and getting things done. Our team works collaboratively across 11 US offices, from San Francisco and Denver to Austin and DC.



  • Produce content for a range of marketing uses, such as emails, one-sheeters, blogs, website copy, landing pages, award applications, etc.
  • Ensure content is in the brand voice, optimized for search engines, able to drive conversion, targeted to the relevant audience, and error-free
  • Conduct research to inform copywriting, so that content speaks to different audiences and aligns with the customer journey
  • Identify when existing content needs to be optimized and proactively do so; then, report on the results, and adjust further, if appropriate
  • Come up with creative content ideas based on insights and data
  • Edit content produced by others, for grammar, style, and audience
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis on results
  • Collaborate with team members to build integrated campaigns (with PR, social media, paid ads, etc.)
  • Be the internal expert on all things content; educate team members about copy best practices, etc.


  • 3-6 years of experience writing, as a copywriter, content marketer, or similar
  • Ability to write for different audiences, adjusting the tone, content, and CTA to speak to that segment and to drive conversion
  • Knowledge of current search engine optimization (SEO) principles (e.g. structured data, keywords)
  • Impeccable attention to detail, especially when it comes to grammar, spelling, typo-spotting, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills (e.g. ability to use Google Analytics or MailChimp to gauge copy effectiveness and adjust accordingly)
  • Good time management and project management skills
  • Curiosity and a desire to keep learning
  • Tendency to be proactive and to work independently, initiating projects and identifying opportunities


  • Familiarity with social media, public relations (PR), or other areas of marketing
  • Copywriting certifications (e.g. CopyBlogger, MediaBistro, Hubspot)
